Central Asia
Sustainable Landscape Restoration (RESILAND CA+)

RESILAND CA+ is a flagship World Bank programme supporting sustainable landscape restoration, climate resilience, and community livelihoods across Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

About RESILAND CA+

RESILAND CA+ is a flagship regional initiative of the World Bank  supporting Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan to address land degradation and build resilience to climate change across shared transboundary landscapes.

Land degradation costs Central Asia an estimated 6% of GDP annually. Border regions  hotspots of degradation and poverty  face compounding pressures from climate change, unsustainable land use, and extreme weather. The programme restores degraded forests and pastures, mitigates climate hazards, and improves livelihoods for rural communities.
